Job Description:
The Manager, Finance & Accounting at WFG is a critical role at the organization. Reporting directly to the principal owner, and supervising all account manager and bookkeeper staff members, the Manager, Finance & Accounting onboards all new clients, following the standard business workflow and is therefore in charge of all aspects of the client’s financial life until it is agreed that management of the client account can be transitioned to an Account Manager.
Responsibilities:

Management

Maintains a documented system of policies and procedures that guarantee an adequate level of control over all financial and accounting activities

Maintains the accounting software for accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger

Interface with clients, bank representatives, insurance brokers and other business partners on an ongoing basis

Development and continual improvement of systems, processes and procedures to improve the overall effectiveness of the team

Supervises the accounting staff in order to ensure that department's goals and objectives are achieved

Defines expectations and manages the results of subordinates utilizing strong mentoring and coaching skills

Influences and engages vendors and business partners, and clients

Transactions
-
Ensures that disbursements including payables and payrolls are satisfied in a timely manner

Ensures that receipts are deposited and recorded in a timely manner
-
Ensures that periodic bank and credit card reconciliations are completed in a timely manner

Audits receipts, disbursements and reconciliations
-
Monitors and manage cash flows
-
Maintains the accounting software chart of accounts

Maintains a system of controls over all accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP

Reporting

Issues accurate, timely and complete comparative financial statements to management, clients and stakeholders that comply with US GAAP

Calculates budget variances and provides meaningful financial analyses on a periodic basis to Management and clients

Reports significant issues to management as appropriate

Coordinates all aspects of all audits and all statutory filings with federal, state and local jurisdictional authorities

Performs other duties and functions as assigned by management

Strong mentoring and coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
Requirements:
-
At least fifteen years of progressively responsible work experience in finance or accounting
-
At least three years of supervisory experience

Bachelor Degree in finance or accounting or equivalent work experience; CPA and certification a plus

Certified Bookkeeper accreditation

10+ years’ experience proficiently using QuickBooks ERP system

Expert MS Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel and Word

Proficient Salesforce skills
-
Tax experience a plus

Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with management, staff and clients

Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Quikbooks

Proven competence in analysis skills
