WFG assists small businesses and individuals assess, execute and maintain financial events so that they can focus on what they do best while retaining financial security and independence.
We have created a work environment where employees feel supported and mentored. There are opportunities to learn and grow. While we work closely as a team, we're all individual contributors. We expect new team members to be tech-savvy and think that tech is your friend. We play an important and serious role in our clients' lives, and they trust us as their partners. Our vibe is often playful, though, especially since we often work with clients in creative fields.
The ideal candidates are in the tri-state area and available to come into the office (in the Chelsea area of Manhattan) for an initial training. We have a remote working set-up (most of our employees work remotely for part of the week), so we will consider the remote candidates as well. For any local employees who will consistently come in, they will have a workspace in the office.
Manager, Finance & Accounting
The Manager, Finance & Accounting at WFG is a critical role at the organization. Reporting directly to the principal owner, and supervising all account manager and bookkeeper staff members, the Manager, Finance & Accounting onboards all new clients, following the standard business workflow and is therefore in charge of all aspects of the client’s financial life until it is agreed that management of the client account can be transitioned to an Account Manager.
Account Managers at WFG are key roles within the company. Each Account Manager is assigned his or her own clients and is responsible for all aspects of a client’s financial life. Each Account Manager wears many hats to take complete ownership for all aspects of each client relationship by administering bookkeeping and accounting functions including but not limited to payroll, data gathering for tax preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, reconciliations, financial reporting, compliance, and retirement and estate planning. (While this is designed to be a full-time role, we could consider a job share scenario for two individuals.)
The Tax Manager at WFG is key to the organization. The Tax Manager is responsible for all tax and payroll compliance for over 50 clients. The Tax Manager is required to wear many hats in order to take complete ownership for all tax aspects of each client relationship by administering bookkeeping and accounting functions including but not limited to payroll, data gathering for tax preparation as well preparing all tax returns.
The Junior Bookkeeper at WFG is key to the organization since he/she supports the accounting, finance and tax functions. The junior bookkeeper assists the bookkeepers and the account managers with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit card reconciliation activities, in addition to assisting his/her colleagues with administrative tasks.
