Tax Manager

Job Description:

The Tax Manager at WFG is key to the organization. The Tax Manager is responsible for all tax and payroll compliance for over 50 clients. The Tax Manager is required to wear many hats in order to take complete ownership for all tax aspects of each client relationship by administering bookkeeping and accounting functions including but not limited to payroll, data gathering for tax preparation as well preparing all tax returns. This can be a remote or hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for preparation and review of all Federal and State tax returns and tax filings including, but not limited to, individual returns and tax projections and sales and use tax returns
Respond to all tax notifications
Process payroll and prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax filings as well as annual forms 1099s and W-2s
Prepare all statutory filings with federal, state and local jurisdictions along with estimated tax filings
Extensive knowledge of General Ledger systems and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
Interface with clients, bank representatives, insurance brokers and other business partners on an ongoing basis

Requirements:

7-10 years’ experience as a tax bookkeeper or tax accountant
3-5 years’ experience proficiently using QuickBooks ERP system
Associate Degree or BS in Accounting or Finance preferably with an emphasis in tax
Expert MS Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
Working knowledge of Salesforce and Quicken preferred
Tax experience with ProSeries a plus
